Betty Burnice Pittman Hobby

Funeral services for Betty Burnice Pittman Hobby, 89, of Crescent Drive, Washington, were held Saturday, March 17, 2007, at Hopkins Funeral Home with Rev. Albert Huyck and Rev. Joseph Shippen officiating. Burial was in Resthaven Cemetery, Washington. She died Wednesday, March 14, at Wills Memorial Hospital, Washington.

Mrs. Hobby was born in Forks of the Creek community in Jackson County, Florida, and had lived in Washington since 1948. She was the daughter of the late Henry Jones Pittman and Charity Elizabeth Taylor Pittman; and was the widow of Jesse Wamon Hobby. She was a homemaker and attended the First Baptist Church, Washington.

Survivors include a son, Dr. Henry McCager "Mac" Hobby, and his wife Angela, of Grovetown; two granddaughters, Suzanne Elizabeth Hobby Shippen and Jennifer Lee Lindsay; and one great-granddaughter, Delia Ann Lindsay.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Wills Memorial Hospital Foundation, P.O. Box 370, Washington, GA 30673.

Hopkins Funeral Home of Washington was in charge of arrangements.
