Virginia Lois C. Ledbetter

Graveside services for Virginia Lois Chastain Ledbetter, 84, of Washington will be held Thursday, April 5, 2007, at 4 p.m., in Resthaven Cemetery with Rev. Albert W. Huyck Jr. officiating. She died Tuesday, April 3, in Wilkes Health Care Center, Washington.

Mrs. Ledbetter was a native of Lincoln County and the daughter of the late Marcus Chastain and Nina Rogers Chastain. She was retired from the City of Washington where she served as city clerk for many years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Washington.

Survivors include four daughters, Linda Stapleton of McIntyre, Louise Walker, Gradee Ledbetter, and Mary Virginia Hopkins, Washington; a brother, Bill Chastain of Thomson; seven grandchildren, Lisa McAvoy, Lynne Kelley, Scott Stapleton, Jennifer Jackson, John Walker, Kim Hopkins and Kristi Pharr; and seven great-grandchildren, Amy McAvoy, Madeline Jackson, Ella Jackson, Phillip Kelley, Reece Kelley, Braden Walker, and Aubrye Walker.

Pallbearers include Jerry Walker, Billy Stapleton, Lee Hopkins, Richie McAvoy, John Walker, Scott Stapleton, Phil Kelley, Casey Jackson, and Ben Pahr.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 603, Washington, Ga. 30673.
