Calvin J. Wiggs Jr.

Funeral services for Calvin J. Wiggs Jr., 56, were held Thursday, January 4, 2007, at Springfield Baptist Church, Washington, with Rev. Lance A. Pitts officiating. Interment was in the Black Rock AME Church Cemetery, Tignall. He died Friday, December 29, at his residence.

Mr. Wiggs was a resident of Wilkes County and the son of the late Calvin Wiggs and Mamie Wiggs. He was educated in the Wilkes County school system and graduated from Washington Central High School in 1968. He was a Vietnam Veteran and was an employee of Dr. and Mrs. James Granade for 20 years.

Survivors include his wife, Mozell L. Wiggs; a daughter, Adrianne Eades; three sons, Eric Luke, Calvin J. Wiggs III, and Jarvis Wiggs; a sister, Claudell McLendon; a brother, Jeremiah Wiggs; and four grandchildren.

Pallbearers included Leroy Anthony, Byron Holmes, Randy Luke, Waddy Luke, Leroy Shank, and Rev. John Tatum.

Davenport & McLendon Mortuary Inc. of Washington was in charge of arrangements.
