Blanche Peterman Armour

Funeral services for Blanche Peterman Armour, 91, of Washington were held Tuesday, November 17, 2009, at Rock United Methodist Church, Rayle, with Rev. Sandy Heslop and Rev. Ron Fearneyougyh officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. She died Sunday, November 15, in Wills Memorial Hospital, Washington.

Mrs. Armour was a native of Oglethorpe County and was the daughter of the late Gid N. and Beulah Coe Peterman. She was a retired secretary from Callaway Farms and had been a school teacher for 10 years. She was a member of Rock United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Marvin D. Armour of Washington; two sons and daughters-in-law, David N. and Christina Armour of Washington, and Robert "Bobby" O. and Sheila Armour of Hilton Head, S.C.; three grandchildren, Theresa Dykes, Amanda Perkins, and Sterling Armour Shealey; and four great-grandchildren, Cheyenne Burnett, Gavin Armour, Brittany Shealey, and Madison Shealey.

Pallbearers included Mark Perkins, Benjamin Dykes, Sterling Armour Shealey, Jesse Williamson, Tracy Armour, and Lee Parker. Honorary Pallbearers were Eric Hawn, Chris Lunceford, Greg Armour, Barry Armour, and Lyn Armour.

Hopkins Funeral Home of Washington was in charge of arrangements.
