Helen Reynolds Hodgson

Funeral services for Helen Reynolds Hodgson, 94, of Washington were held Sunday, February 4, 2007, in the Washington Presbyterian Church with Rev. Charles Cook and Rev. Randy Hardy officiating. She died Friday, February 2, 2007, in Wills Memorial Hospital, Washington. Interment was in Resthaven Cemetery, Washington.

Mrs. Hodgson was a native of Greene County and was the daughter of the late DeLeon Hamilton Reynolds and Annie Mc. Boswell Reynolds. She was the widow of Charles Neal Hodgson. She was a retired secretary-treasurer for the Wilkes County Farm Bureau. Mrs. Hodgson was a member of the Washington Presbyterian Church where she served as an Elder and taught Sunday School for 40 years. She served as president of the Presbyterian Women of the State of Georgia from 1962 until 1965, and president of the Presbyterian Women from 1957 to 1959. She was a member of the Washington-Wilkes Garden Club and of the Friends of the Library. She was named 1987 Wilkes County Citizen of the Year, and was named in Who's Who among American Women.

Survivors include a sister, Miss Elizabeth Reynolds of Washington; and a brother and sister-in-law, James A. and Rosemary Reynolds of Washington.

Pallbearers included Charles Howell, Jim Pixley, Addison Simpson III, Russell Morgan, Mark Channell, and Lawrence Burton.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Washington Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 644, Washington, Ga. 30673.

Hopkins Funeral Home of Washington was in charge of arrangements.
