Graveside services for Virginia Stevenson McClearen, 91, of Washington were held Tuesday, July 7, 2009, in Resthaven Cemetery, Washington. She died Saturday, July 4, in the Elbert Memorial Hospital, Elberton.
Mrs. McClearen was a native of Lincoln County and was the daughter of the late Clifford and Ida Ruth Wolfe Stevenson. She had lived in Washington most of her life and operated Virginia's Beauty Salon for more than 45 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Washington; the National Cosmetologist Association; and the Town and Country Garden Club which she served as president in 1959. She was the widow of William A. "Bill" McClearen Jr.
Survivors include a daughter, Valerie M. Jackson and her husband Bobby of Tignall; a son, Billy Mc- Clearen and his wife Barbara of Tifton; four grandchildren, Steve Jackson, Rob Jackson, Leianna M. Ishler, and Brittany McClearen; and seven great-grandchildren, Tabor, Brock, Maura, Hunter, Brent, Wilkes, and Lexie.
Beggs Funeral Home of Lincolnton was in charge of arrangements.
