Lilllian Smith Garrett Skinner

Graveside services for Lillian Smith Garrett Skinner, 92, of Washington were held Friday, October 20, 2006, in Resthaven Cemetery, Washington, with Rev. Chip Wilson and Rev. Albert W. Huyck Jr. officiating. She died Wednesday, October 18, at the Heritage Inn in Sandersville.

Mrs. Skinner was a native of St. Louis, Missouri, and the daughter of the late Charles Irvin Smith and Lillian McCleskey Smith. She was the widow of Enoch Bell Garrett and Jacob Phinizy Skinner. She was a retired paraprofessional with the Wilkes County School System. She was a member of the Washington First Baptist Church where she was a member of the Vannie Spratlin Sunday School Class. She was a member of the Woman's Club, the Kettle Creek Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution, and Friends of the Mary Willis Library.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Robert (Bobby) Irvin and Ellamarie "Ree" Hudson Garrett, Sandersville; a daughter, Marian Garrett Confer, LaHerradura, Spain; two granddaughters, Susan Garrett Cato, Sandersville, and Elizabeth Hudson Garrett, Venice, California; and a sister, Elaine Smith Sliver, Phoenix, Arizona.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Washington-Wilkes Animal Shelter, 358 Brown Drive, Washington, Ga.
