Mary Frances Drinkard Barnett

Graveside services for Mary Frances Drinkard Barnett, 95, of Spring Street, Washington, were held Friday, June 26, 2009, in Resthaven Cemetery, Washington, with Rev. Klay Aspinwall officiating. She died Tuesday, June 23, at Heritage Health Care in Washington.

Mrs. Barnett was born in Washington and was the only child of the late Henry Grady Drinkard and Marcia Glaze Drinkard. She graduated from Washington High School and then attended Cox College for Women in College Park. At the time, Cox College was an all-women's liberal arts college and business college, and Mrs. Barnett graduated from the college. Soon she married Henry Harrison Barnett of Washington. After her marriage, she engaged herself as a wonderful wife, mother, and homemaker for the rest of her life.

Mrs. Barnett is survived by her son, Henry Harrison Barnett Jr., of Washington.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Washington First Baptist Church Piano Fund or Organ Fund, P.O. Box 603, Washington, GA 30673, or to Wills Memorial Hospital.
