Graveside services for Elizabeth Combs Mantooth, 85, of Washington, will be held Thursday, January 25, 2007, at 11 a.m., at the Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Craig Yoshihara officiating. She died Monday, January 22, at her home.
Mrs. Mantooth was a native and lifelong resident of Wilkes County. She was a retired nurse and was the daughter of the late P.W. Combs and Gussie Lee Langford. She was a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sisters, Mary Helen Combs Thornton of Washington and Frances Combs West of Decatur; two nephews, Tommy Thornton of Washington and Butch O'Hara, Pine Mountain; and two nieces, Janice Danner, Lincolnton, and Fran Fortson, Washington.
The family will receive friends Thursday morning at Hopkins Funeral Home for one hour prior to the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Bethel United Methodist Church, c/o Charles Chafin, 809 Cloverhurst Drive, Washington 30673, or to Heartland Hospice, 1365 Interstate Parkway, Augusta 30909.
Hopkins Funeral Home of Washington is in charge of arrangements.
