Claudelle Norman Bonner

Funeral services for Claudelle Norman Bonner, 88, of Washington were held Saturday, March 17, 2007, at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Gale Seibert officiating. Interment was in Resthaven Cemetery, Washington. She died Wednesday, March 14, in Doctors Hospital, Augusta.

Mrs. Bonner was a native of Wilkes County and had lived here all of her life. She was the daughter of the late Leon Bolton Norman and Susie Lillian Lunceford Norman. She was the widow of Coley T. Pettus and Sam Bonner. She was a retired bookkeeper from Bonner Auto Parts and was a member of the First United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class and Young At Heart. Mrs. Bonner was also a member of the Friends of the Library, the Washington Wilkes Historical Foundation, and was a docent for the Washington Historical Museum. She was a member emeritus of the Pilot Club of Washington.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Jimmy Tanner of Washington; two sons and daughters-in-law, Randall and Helen Pettus, Buford, and Ted Coley Jr. and Mary Pettus, Bloomsdale, Missouri; two sisters, Alma Lunceford O'Neal, Crawfordville, and Mary Boldin, Augusta; 10 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers included Warren Pettus, Wesley Pettus, Randy Pettus Jr., Nathan Pearson, Jamie Barnett, and Andrew Norman.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church Building Fund.

Hopkins Funeral Home of Washington was in charge of arrangements.
