Charlie T. Williams

Funeral services for Charlie T. Williams, 91, of Washington were held Sunday, April 15, 2007, at the Gibson Grove Baptist Church, Thomson Road, Washington, with Rev. Joseph Williams officiating. Interment was in Resthaven Cemetery, Washington. He died April 11 at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta.

Mr. Williams was a native and lifelong resident of Wilkes County. He was the son of the late Robert F. and Ida Williams. His wife was the late Zettie Mae Hill. He was employed for many years by the late Troupe M. Harris and Troupe M. Harris Jr. He was a member of the Gibson Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Charlie Mae and James King; a grandson, Dennis King; two great-grandchildren, Shareka King and Dennis King Jr., all of Washington; two step-grandchildren, James Morris and Shirley Ann King; and six step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Annie Mae Stalnaker, Melbourne, Fla.; two brothers, Fred Williams and Matthew Williams of Mt. Dora Fla.

Nephews served as pallbearers.

McLendon Memorial Funeral Home of Washington was in charge of arrangements.
