Charles Warren Bradford

Funeral services for Charles Warren Bradford, 65, of Washington were held Friday, February 2, 2007, at the Danburg Baptist Church with Rev. Ficklen Guin and Rev. Boyd Reeves officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. He died Wednesday, January 31, in the University Hospital, Augusta.

Mr. Bradford was a native of Wilkes County and was the son of the late Janie Marie Johnson Bradford and Harry Thomas Bradford. He was an electrical engineer and worked both in the medical and textile industries. He served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Daniel Webster. As a member of the Danburg Baptist Church he served on the cemetery committee.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Fleming Bradford of Washington; a daughter and son-in-law, Charlotte and Bob Welch of Rayle; a brother, Tommy Bradford of Washington; his stepmother, Ina Elree Bradford of Thomson; a stepsister, Kay Reeves of Dearing; three grandchildren, Joshua Welch, Tabatha Welch, and Bobbie Welch of Rayle.

Pallbearers included Norris Ware, Gary Ware, Johnny Ware, Daniel Thornton, Melvin Hopkins, and Jack Bentley. Ray Hopkins and S.A. Ware were honorary pallbearers.

Hopkins Funeral Home of Washington was in charge of arrangements.
